Les enfants constituent une partie importante des mouvements de population dans le monde ; selon les estimations faites par de nombreux organismes, des millions d’enfants et de jeunes (filles et garçons de différents âges) seraient en mouvement, au sein de leur pays ou entre les pays.

Qui sont ces enfants? Pourquoi partent-ils? Comment s’y prennent-ils? Où vont-ils? Que cherchent-ils? Quel est leur vécu? Que deviennent-ils? Quelles sont leurs attentes?

Call for more coordinated approach to child protection in West Africa

A new report on child migration in West Africa says thousands of children are being sold, exchanged or transported out of their communities each year in violation of internationally-recognized rights of the child, and calls on the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) to persuade governments to better protect these children.

Urgent need to protect the rights of migrant children

A new study by the United Nations Human Rights office has identified “serious protection gaps for migrant children in every region of the world.” It calls on countries of origin, transit and destination to adopt a child-sensitive and rights-based approach to protect the human rights of children at all stages of the migration process.

The study points out that children in the context of migration, including children left behind and children on the move, are particularly at risk of discrimination, violence and abuse.

El dia 31 de mayo se recuerda el día nacional contra el abuso y explotación sexual de niños, niñas y adolescentes. Tras el caso de Felicita Estigarribia, una niña de 11 años, vendedora de frutas, quien fue víctima de abuso sexual y posterior asesinato, el Parlamento se decidió declarar esta fecha. El abuso y la explotación sexual son términos diferentes, según nos explica la representante de la organización Luna Nueva, que trabaja con niñas y adolescentes en esta situación, Rossana Ríos.

MONTRÉAL – Le Centre international pour la prévention de la criminalité (CIPC) dresse un sombre pronostic sur la sécurité dans le monde.

Dans un rapport inédit dont le quotidien Le Devoir a obtenu copie, le Centre estime que la crise financière qui secoue la planète depuis 2007 risque d'engendrer une hausse de la criminalité dont les femmes, les migrants et les enfants vont faire les frais.

Veracruz - Cerca de 16 mil casos de explotación sexual de tipo comercial han sido detectados en México, principalmente en el Distrito Federal, reveló el director del Instituto Fronterizo-Trans de Estados Unidos, David A. Shirk.

Durante su participación en el Tercer Congreso Internacional Sobre Explotación Sexual, Infantil y Pederastia que se celebra aquí, dijo que existe dicha problemática en los centros turísticos de Acapulco, Cancún y en las entidades de la frontera con Estados Unidos.

The Tucson journalist has written on migration from Mexico over the past decade and has poured her experience into “The Death of Josseline: Immigration Stories from the Arizona-Mexico Borderlands,” published by Beacon Press in February. The book focuses on Josseline Hernandez, a 14-year-old girl whose death during her crossing underscores the danger and chaos in the region. Regan believes Arizona's crackdown on illegal immigration overlooks a serious problem: the rising number of migrant deaths.
