Tens of thousands of Haitians flee poverty every year to try their luck in the neighbouring country, the Dominican Republic. Most of them, not having the travel documents required, turn to traffickers to help them cross the border illegally.

Le syndicat dominicain CASC (1) a obtenu une couverture sociale pour plus de 31.000 travailleurs de l’économie informelle et leurs familles. Il soutient également d’importants projets concrets en faveur des migrants haïtiens. Violations des droits syndicaux, défense du travail domestique, lutte contre la pauvreté… Gabriel del Rio, secrétaire général de la CASC, fait le point sur les multiples combats syndicaux.

La Confederación Autónoma Sindical Clasista (CASC) ha conseguido obtener cobertura de la seguridad social para más de 31.000 trabajadores en la economía informal y sus familias. Apoya asimismo importantes proyectos concretos a favor de los inmigrantes haitianos. Violaciones de los derechos sindicales, defensa de los trabajadores del hogar, lucha contra la pobreza... Gabriel del Río, Secretario General de la CASC, expone las distintas luchas sindicales de su organización.
