Newcomers and the City

The majority of the world’s population now lives in cities. Brussels expects a population growth of 170.000 in the next 10 years, mainly due to the high birth rate of immigrant population and to new international migration. The future of Brussels depends on the integration of multicultural newcomers. The Cities and Migration Group of the UAB Urban Studies Network (former Stadsplatform) will organize this conference to bring together research results and Brussels practices in an open exchange in order to produce an integrated policy.
