La Mesa nacional para las Migraciones y Refugiados en República Dominicana (MENAMIRD) y el Movimiento Socio Cultural para los Trabajadores Haitianos, Inc. (MOSCTHA),  quienes junto a otras instituciones conmemoran el día internacional del trabajador migratorio y sus familiares,  el cual fue adoptado por la ONU en el año 1990, en el marco de la convención internacional para la protección de los derechos de los trabajadores migrantes y sus familias,   a pesar de que Republica Dominicana  es un país, de entrada y salida de migrantes,  no la ha ratificado.

El número de trabajadores y trabajadoras migrantes que ejercen su profesión en condiciones peligrosas sigue aumentando año tras año, advierte la Confederación Sindical Internacional con ocasión del Día Internacional del Migrante que la ONU celebra el 18 de diciembre.

Sharan Burrow, Secretaria General de la Confederación Sindical Internacional, ha dicho que millones de trabajadores/as migrantes de todo el mundo se encuentran trabajando fuera del marco del derecho laboral internacional. Se les deniegan los derechos de los que disfruten otros trabajadores.

ITUC warns of high risks facing migrant workers on International Migrant Workers Day

The number of migrant workers working in perilous conditions is growing each year warns, the International Trade Union Confederation as the UN marks International Migrants Day on 18 December.

Sharan Burrow, General Secretary of the International Trade Union Confederation, said millions of migrant workers all around the world work outside of international labour law. They are denied the same rights as others workers.

From labourers, construction workers, domestic workers to administrators, migrant workers are in many industries in most countries of the world.

La CSI donne l’alerte sur les risques auxquels sont exposés les travailleurs migrants

Alors que les Nations unies s’apprêtent à célébrer la Journée internationale des migrants ce 18 décembre, la Confédération syndicale internationale (CSI) s’alarme du nombre croissant de travailleurs migrants exposés à des conditions de travail dangereuses.

Comme l’a rappelé Sharan Burrow, Secrétaire générale de la CSI, des millions de travailleurs migrants dans le monde sont exclus du droit international du travail. Ils ne bénéficient pas des mêmes droits que les autres catégories de travailleurs.
