The Committee examined the initial report submitted by Mexico under Article 73 of the Convention on 30 and 31 OCtober 2006 and adopted concluding observations. The report by the government of Mexico, the list of issues and the concluding observations can be found on the OHCHR page. During the one-hour meeting they had with the Committee members, NGOs presented additional information to the Committee that can be found on this IPMWC page.

The Committee also prepared for the examination of the initial report submitted by Egypt and adopted the list of issues to the Egyptian government. There was a meeting with IGOs and NGOs to hear their input on Egypt in the morning of 1 November. The examination of Egypt's report will take place at the Committee's sixth session, in April 2007.
In addition, the Committee decided to organise a Day of General Disucssion in November 2007 and to invite other State Parties to the Convention at its next session in April 2007. See the press release.
